As we are heading into Trinity term and approaching the end of the academic year, you may be starting to look ahead to the summer. If that means that you are starting to think about your future career options and goals, or are looking into securing work experience or a graduate role starting this year, know that the Careers Service is here to support you any point in your career preparedness.

First Steps to Successful Career Planning

This session will explore practical ways to develop resilience when looking for jobs or internships, to help you bounce back when things don’t go as planned. We’ll share ways of building resilience that have helped other students and useful links and resources to take away after the session.

How to Write Winning CVs and Cover Letters

 Online  Thursday 27 April, 13:15 - 14:00

Whether you're looking to improve a CV or create one for the first time, join this session and learn how to make a CV which is well-structured and gives an instant impression to the reader of your suitability for the role. 

Nothing Planned for the Summer? - Advice for First Years

 In Person  Tuesday 30 May, 13:00 - 14:00, at the Careers Service

Are you a first year student looking to secure an internship this summer, but don’t know where to start? If the busyness of student life has meant that work experience for the summer has not been nailed down, don’t panic. This workshop will cover the types of work experience available to you and the benefits of completing an internship. We will also discuss where you can find internships and how to make a strong application.

What to Do if You Have Nothing Planned for the Summer

This informal session will give you the tools for finding work experience opportunities at the last minute, without the accompanying stress.
