Fleur Houghton

Studied

BA Geography (Cambridge University), Associate Diploma in Learning & Development (Charted Institute of Personnel Development)

Previous experience

Fleur started her career on John Lewis' Graduate Retail Management Scheme then moved into retail management consultancy, gaining experience in both the operational and strategic sides of the retail sector. She later worked in global strategic insight consultancy, where she specialised in qualitative research and brand, product and service design. Through this work she helped brands in a variety of sectors understand their consumers, create clear strategies and develop their product portfolios or services.

Most recently, after gaining a professional qualification in Learning & Development, Fleur transitioned her career to work in Oxford University's People & Organisational Development (POD) department as an Organisational Development Advisor where she supported Oxford's staff with personal, professional and career development via management and leadership development programmes, coaching and mentoring and career development tools.

Her desire to support people with their careers led Fleur to the Careers Service where, in her current role as a Careers Advisor, she works with students and alumni through 1:1 and group sessions and is part of the Creative Careers and Finance & Management Consultancy clusters.
